Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using The Humble Nurse website (thehumblenurse.com) or application (app.thehumblenurse.com). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Educational Content Disclaimer

The content on The Humble Nurse is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, clinical judgment, or direct patient care.

  • All clinical tools, eBook content, and resources are intended as educational aids for nursing students, registered nurses, and nurse practitioner students
  • Clinical decisions must always be made using current evidence-based guidelines, professional judgment, and consideration of individual patient circumstances
  • Drug dosing, prescribing recommendations, and treatment protocols referenced in our content should be verified against current Canadian guidelines and formularies before clinical application
  • We make no representation that our content is current, complete, or applicable to every clinical situation

The Humble Nurse, its founder, and contributors accept no liability for clinical decisions made based on content accessed through our Services.

2. Purchases and Refund Policy

Digital Products

All purchases (PDF downloads, module access) are digital products delivered immediately upon payment confirmation. Due to the digital nature of our products:

  • All sales are final once the download link has been delivered via Gumroad
  • We do not offer refunds on digital downloads once the file has been accessed
  • If you experience a technical issue with your download, contact us at hello@thehumblenurse.com within 7 days of purchase and we will resolve it

Monthly Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Gumroad account or by emailing us
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued
  • We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with 30 days notice

3. Intellectual Property

All content on The Humble Nurse, including but not limited to the NP Prep eBook modules, clinical frameworks, illustrations, website design, brand assets, and The Humble Nurse name and logo, is the intellectual property of The Humble Nurse and is protected by Canadian copyright law.

  • You may use purchased content for your own personal educational purposes
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, republish, or create derivative works from our content without written permission
  • Sharing purchased PDFs with others constitutes copyright infringement
  • You may not screenshot, extract, or republish module content to other platforms

4. Acceptable Use

When using our Services, you agree not to:

  • Use our content for commercial purposes without written authorization
  • Attempt to access parts of our Services you are not authorized to access
  • Misrepresent our content or present it as your own work
  • Use our platform in any way that violates applicable Canadian law
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of our website or app

5. Rapid RN Tool

Rapid RN is a clinical assessment support tool. Specifically:

  • NEWS2 scores generated by Rapid RN are calculated based on values you enter. Accuracy depends entirely on the values you input
  • SBAR reports generated by Rapid RN are communication aids — they do not replace clinical judgment or institutional escalation protocols
  • Rapid RN is not a medical device and has not been reviewed or approved by Health Canada
  • Never delay urgent patient care to complete a Rapid RN assessment
  • Always follow your institution’s escalation policies and your professional regulatory body’s standards of practice

6. Third-Party Links and Content

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites (SOGC, NACI, RxFiles, ODB, etc.). These links are provided for educational reference only. We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for third-party content. Accessing third-party websites is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, The Humble Nurse and its founder shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:

  • Use of or reliance on any content on our Services
  • Clinical decisions made using our educational tools
  • Interruption, suspension, or termination of our Services
  • Errors or omissions in our content

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
